Why We Choose a Direct Relationship with Our Patients
At Bridge Street Health, we made made a deliberate choice to step away from the traditional insurance-based model for health care. While this may seem unconventional, we believe it is allows us to provide the high-standard, personalized care our patients deserve.

Here is why we put our patients—not insurance companies—in the driver's seat.
We Answer to You, Not the Insurance Company
When insurance is used to pay for medical costs, the doctor's office must satisfy the needs and requirements of the insurance company in order to receive payment for the services provided to the patient. That often means the insurance company will dictate tests, treatments and other medical procedures based on what they choose to reimburse. We don't believe your medical treatment or experience in our office should be dictated by an insurance adjuster who doesn't know anything about you.

The Bridge Street Difference: Our clinical decisions are based on the latest medical evidence and your unique health goals. We work for you, ensuring your care is not compromised by "billing codes" or "coverage denials."
You Get More Time with Your Doctor
In a typical insurance-based practice, doctors generally see 20–30 patients a day just to cover administrative overhead. This leads to rushed, 10-minute appointments. The reason behind this patient load is insurance companies reimburse primary care visits at relatively low rates. So, your time with a doctor is not driven by your medical needs, but rather insurance companies and the primary care provider's profit margins.

The Bridge Street Difference: By removing insurance requirements, we can limit our patient volume. This means your appointments are never rushed, allowing us to listen deeply and address your concerns thoroughly. Instead of a 20 minute appointment, most of our patients spend from 45 to 60 minutes with our doctor. And, though a patient might like having low per visit costs through insurance, that system leads to less a less than ideal environment for a physician to practice medicine.

Transparent Pricing with No Surprise Bills
The current healthcare system is notoriously opaque. Patients often receive "surprise bills" months after a procedure because of complex deductible rules or out-of-network technicalities.

The Bridge Street Difference: We believe in transparent pricing. You will always know the cost of your care upfront. No hidden fees, no complex EOBs (Explanation of Benefits), and no mid-year deductible resets.
Reduced Administrative Costs is a Better Value
A significant portion of every dollar spent in traditional healthcare goes toward the the cost of billing and dealing with insurance companies and their many demands—coding, filing claims, and fighting denials, etc. It is a time consuming, inefficient process that not only doesn't add to your quality of care, it actually detracts from it.

The Bridge Street Difference: By eliminating the insurance middleman, we reduce our overhead. This allows us to focus on serving our patients and their health needs. We believe we are the best judge of their needs savings into better technology, more accessible communication, and a more comfortable environment for our patients.
"Can I still use my insurance for other things?"
Absolutely. You can still use your insurance for lab work, imaging (MRIs/CT scans), specialist visits, and hospitalizations.

Our Commitment to You
At the end of the day, healthcare is about a human connection. By removing the barriers of the insurance industry, Bridge Street Health returns to the roots of medicine: a simple, direct, and dedicated partnership between a patient and their provider.
